Story

The Bruin Alumni Association, a conservative organization, is willing to pay UCLA students up to $100 for their recorded lectures and notes of professors who are accused of being left, radical, and liberal. The Association was founded by UCLA alumnus Andrew Jones, who graduated in 2003. Jones, who currently runs the organization on his own, said his objective is to ensure that the university provides a diverse and balanced political spectrum to students. Jones considers lecturing from a radical, left biased perspective unprofessional and that it promotes for one-sided viewpoints. Reports stated that the organization’s website currently lists 30 names of UCLA faculty who are accused of giving left-biased lectures. But this is not the first time Jones has tried to attack liberal perspectives. However, university officials point out those students who take part in the organization’s bribe will be violating UC policies. Students are not allowed to sell or distribute any material of their professors, since all UC faculty have copyrights to their material that they teach at the university. So far, only one student has signed up to participate in the campaign. The Bruin Alumni Association has no affiliation with the official UCLA Alumni Association.
