Story

It is estimated that 63% of American households will have at least one HDTV set by year 2010. The U.S. Congress has also set a deadline for Americans to get with the new DTV technology – December 31, 2006. With new technology gaining popularity as well as affordability, videotapes and VCRs are now being buried in the technological graveyard. Big movie rental companies, such as Blockbuster Video, no longer stock videotapes and carry all their selections in DVD. Are all physical forms of technology destined to become apart of the retro movement? Or, is there still hope for physical data storage with the upcoming Blue Ray/ HD DVD? What do people think of the government being involved with tech upgrading?
